Dew Point Calculator for Cold Winter Morning

Cool winter morning with high relative humidity, common in coastal or foggy areas.

Estimates the dew point temperature based on air temperature and relative humidity using a common meteorological approximation. Enter your Air Temperature, Relative Humidity to get an instant dew point. Formula: air_temperature - ((100 - relative_humidity) / 5).

How It Works

How It Works

The Dew Point Calculator estimates the temperature at which air becomes fully saturated with moisture. This is the point where water vapor begins to condense into dew.

It uses a simple formula that adjusts the air temperature based on the current relative humidity. As humidity increases, the dew point gets closer to the actual air temperature.

  • Start with the current air temperature in °C.
  • Subtract the humidity difference factor: (100 − Relative Humidity) ÷ 5.
  • Higher humidity results in a higher dew point.
  • Lower humidity results in a lower dew point.

Understanding the Results

The dew point tells you how humid the air actually feels. When the dew point is close to the air temperature, the air feels moist or muggy.

If the dew point is much lower than the air temperature, the air feels dry. The result helps you understand comfort levels and the likelihood of condensation.

  • A dew point close to the air temperature means high humidity.
  • A low dew point means dry air.
  • If air cools to the dew point, condensation can form.
  • Higher dew points often feel more uncomfortable.
